Happy November!
I hope you are all enjoying the cooler temperatures! We have been in school 52 days and the students have made large amounts of progress!! School rules and procedures are running smoother, but with all these days off in the month of November, please remind your child of the rules on a day off. These frequent days off make it difficult to remain on schedule.
The field trip was a lot of fun. THANK YOU to all of the chaperones that were able to join us on the pumpkin patch. It was a huge help.
Our fall festival was great as well. Thank you for all of the wonderful goodies that were sent in. The children had a great time.
Thank you to all of the parents that have donated supplies to our classroom!! It helps greatly.
As always, if you have any questions about your child's education, please do not hesitate to call me.

September update
I hope you are all enjoying September! Temperatures are dropping and football is starting, this is definitely one of my favorite times of year!
Your child has been having homework, a little section of a page to do, or maybe an entire page to do, thus far. This homework is only supposed to get them into routine for doing homework and should help reinforce what we are doing in class. If you child is struggling with these skills, please help them work through it. Please do not allow them to work longer than 10-15 minutes on it. Just write me a little note with the homework, explaining the struggles, and it will be okay. I try to keep it fun and from what I have seen thus far, they thoroughly enjoy homework!
We are continuing to work on identifying letters names, letter sounds, and words that start with Tt.
We begin MAP testing this week and the results will be a tool that I use to assess the growth your child has made throughout the course of the year!!
Please make sure your child gets to school before 7:45 if they would like to enjoy breakfast. Breakfast goes into the trash at 7:45.
One last thing :) Scholastic orders are due by Friday if you would like to place an order.
I hope you and your family have a great week! As always, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Another eventful week!!
Pictures will be up soon from our "Fun Friday" activities with patterns. I want to double check all files to insure consent before I put up pictures. We had a great week even though I had no voice! The children were wonderful and very helpful!! Please continue to have your children do patterns at home..with dishes, laundry, toys! You can create patterns everywhere!! Have a great weekend/week.

Open House & Tid Bits from August 16-20
We are going to have another open house!! This time it will be in the classroom and you will be able to see what your child is involved with educationally. I hope everyone will be able to make it on September 2, 2010. This will be a great time to set up a conference if you have any questions or concerns about your child's education or how they may be learning in the classroom. I look forward to seeing you all again.
We have been learning songs about days of the week and months of the year. We are learning character, setting, and parts of the book. In math, we have been discussing positional words (above, below, left, right, etc). Ask your child about the new Promethean Boad we have in our room!! I hope they are as excited about this as I am. You will be able to see this at open house. This is a great piece of technology to assist learning and to engage students.
The kids continue to impress me everyday, as I hope they do you as well. They are craving knowledge and very curious.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

First Week
This first week has been full of procedures and rules. We will start with our behavior cards tomorrow (Friday, August 6) and hopefully this will help the class flow more smoothly. I appreciate all of your help with reinforcing the importance of following the rules in school. I am looking forward to this year and looking forward to teaching the curriculum. We have a great bunch of kiddos this year and it's going to be an exciting year in Kindergarten!
